Counseling in this practice is interactive and individualized. Together we will set goals and determine a therapy approach that will best address your needs. Seeking help is the first step in making a change or a series of changes that will help you live a more effective life and remove the roadblocks that prevent it.
Counseling can help ease the way through life transitions--such as beginning or ending relationships, career changes, legal concerns, financial problems, health concerns. It can encourage greater feelings of self acceptance and creating a realistic plan for co-existing with those who may not be supportive of the authentic you. Counseling can help with coping in times of grief and loss and to find ways to adapt and live through it.
Weight loss and other eating issues and addictions can feel like an escape from painful issues--unfortunately, they are a temporary distraction--and ulimtately only bring more pain. Counseling can help provide support and structure as you grow and change--out of pain and self-destruction and into peace and self-acceptance.
