About Joan
Joan uses her compassionate nature and engaging personality to create a comfortable atmosphere where clients feel welcome and understood. Joan, a licensed therapist, began her counseling career in 1999, specializing in weight loss and eating disorders--with many clients today maintaining a healthy weight for more than a decade after successful counseling. Joan helps individuals with trauma backgrounds and mood disorders, those seeking recovery from addictions and smoking cessation, couples and families struggling with relationship concerns, and clients working through issues related to sexuality and identity. Joan helps corporate clients find the focused solutions necessary to bring out the best in their employees, resolving conflicts, creating a more peaceful and productive atmosphere on the job, easing the way for both employees and management to get back to business.
Joan Weill holds degrees in psychology and in clinical social work and is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Maryland, a published writer, and an experienced lecturer. Joan completed intensive training in Ericksonian Hypynotherapy at the American Hypnosis Training Academy and is a certified hypnothepist. Joan is a graduate of CCAR Addiction Recovery Coach Academy, a certified nutrition counselor trained by Dr. Paul Kahl (co-founder of Eicotech with Dr. Barry Sears, creator of the Zone), and has training in a variety of therapy approaches. Joan is often described by her clients as diligent, dedicated, and insightful.
